  5. #H Introduction
  6. Two-in-One is an archive utility and provides 2 major functions:
  7.  
  8. GEM Shell: Easy processing of archive files using two file
  9. directory windows. The following archive formats are currently
  10. supported: LZH, ZIP, ARC, ARJ and ZOO.
  11.  
  12. Archive management: Most alternative desktops support the passing
  13. of one or more files directly to a command line. Two-in-One
  14. handles such files directly without displaying its GEM interface.
  15. All files are handled by the default archive format using the
  16. specified settings in the GEM Shell.

  18. #H General settings
  19. "Default archiver":
  20.  The packer that ought to be used for the packing of files.
  21.  
  22. "No multitasking":
  23.  Surpresses the parallel starting of archivers under MultiTOS
  24.  and MAG!X.

  26. #H Config GEM shell
  27. "Dialogs in windows":
  28.  Displays all dialogs belonging to the shell in windows,
  29.  rather than just the main dialog box.

  31. "Save coordinates of main dialog":
  32.  Causes the main dialog to appear in the same position as
  33.  before the next time that the program is started.
  34.  
  35. "Start VD-Quick after unpacking":
  36.  Automatically start VD-QUICK.TTP to check un-archived files
  37.  for link viruses.

  39. "Confirmations required for":
  40.  Do you want warning-dialogs to appear (including KOBOLD)?
  41.  
  42. "Use KOBOLD for":
  43.  Should the KOBOLD be used for the copying or deleting of files?

  46. #H Config manager
  47. "Call only when <Shift>-key is pressed":
  48.  Starts the GEM shell even when a command line is used and only
  49.  calls the manager when the <SHIFT> key is pressed.

  51. "Pack: Create single archives":
  52.  Each file passed to Two-in-One is archived seperately.
  53.  
  54. "Unpack: Always create collective folder":
  55.  A collective folder, with the same name as the archive, is
  56.  created into which each file is archived.
  57.  
  58. "Un-/pack always to this folder:":
  59.  All files will be packed or unpacked into this directory,
  60.  regardless of the path in which the archive lies. To remove the
  61.  entry, simply click on 'Cancel' in the file selector.

  64. Use this screen to set the desired options for LHARC and the path
  65. and filename of the program.

  76. Use this screen to set the desired options for ARC and the path
  77. and filename of the program.

  80. Use this screen to set the desired options for UNARJ and the path
  81. and filename of the program.

  84. Use this screen to set the desired options for VD-QUICK and the
  85. path and filename of the program.

  87. #H Programs
  88. Two-in-One can call various external programs to perform archive
  89. associated tasks. The individual programs are:
  90.  
  91. "Viewer": Any program can be used to view selected files.
  92.  Naturally the choice of program determines which files can be
  93.  viewed. It's also possible to call an accessory program which
  94.  supports the VA_START protocol. 1st View is a good choice because
  95.  it supports the VA_START protocol and can view many text and
  96.  graphic file formats.

  98. "ZIP2TOS": Converts ZIP archives into self-extracting archives.
  99.  
  100. #W Additional programs
  101. "SFXPAK": Convert LZH archives into self-extracting archives.
  102.  
  103. "PFXPAK": Used to convert executable files into auto-extracting
  104.  and auto-executing archives.
  105.  
  106. "UUEncode/UUDecode": Converts binary files to ASCII format and
  107.  vice versa. Used primarily for data transfer over networks which
  108.  do not support binary file transfer.

  110. #H Main dialog
  111. Buttons "Archive":
  112.  Either creates a new archive or opens an existing archive. At
  113.  the moment Two-in-One can only handle a single archive so if an
  114.  archive is already open it is automatically closed.
  115.  
  116. Popup "Add, Freshen, Update and Move" or "Extract and Test":
  117.  Select the desired option and click on the action button <F1>
  118.  to start. The direction of the arrow on this button depends on
  119.  the files selected. Pressing the <SHIFT> key whilst selecting
  120.  the action button displays a dialog containing the currently
  121.  active options for the selected archive type in a command line.
  122.  The options for this call (and this call only) can be manually
  123.  edited (so called 'Quick Access').

  125. Option "Encryption":
  126.  Enables a password to be added to ZIP and LZH archives. A dialog
  127.  appears into which the password can be entered.

  129. #W Main dialog
  130. Option (text changes):
  131.  De/activate first archiver-option.
  132.  
  133. Popup "Action...":
  134.  One or more selected files can be manipulated using the selected
  135.  external program.
  136.  
  137. Button "Copy":
  138.  Copies the selected files. You have to instal the accessory
  139.  KOBOLD to use this function. Selecting this button while
  140.  pressing <CONTROL> will move the selected files.
  141.  
  142. Buttons "Folder":
  143.  Creates a new folder. This function can also be used from within
  144.  ZIP and LZH Archives.
  145.  
  146. Button "Delete":
  147.  Deletes all selected folders/files.

  149. #H Directory window
  150. A Double click on a folder will open it and display its contents.
  151. A double click on a supported archive file type will open the
  152. archive and a double click on any other file type will display an
  153. Info dialog for the file. If during a double click on a supported
  154. archive file type the <SHIFT> key is held down the archive
  155. contents will automatically be selected.
  156.  
  157. If the file extender is a supported archive file type Two-in-One
  158. displays the archive with a preceding '-'. The actual archive
  159. contents are not examined at this stage.

  161. A single right click can be used to select a single file. Any
  162. other selected files are de-selected. A single right click on a
  163. folder opens the folder and displays its contents.

  166. #W Directory window
  167. The available disk drives and partitions of the left hand direc-
  168. tory window can be selected using the <ALTERNATE>+<Letter> or
  169. simply <Letter> keyboard combination. Similarly the available
  170. disk drives of the right hand selection window can be selected
  171. using the <SHIFT>+<ALTERNATE>+<Letter> keyboard combination.

  173. A single click on a directory window title bar either re-reads
  174. the current directory or displays an archive Info dialog.
  175.  
  176. In the Path Pop-up (under the title bar) up to five desired paths
  177. can be stored. To store the current path entry in the Pop-up,
  178. click on the desired slot while pressing <SHIFT>. To clear a
  179. slot, click on it while pressing <CONTROL>. The first entry will
  180. also be used as default directorys for the selection windows when
  181. Two-in-One is started.
